Schwarzwald Kennels – Breeder and TrainerSchwarzwald Kennels was built out of our family’s passion for upland and waterfowl hunting with our German Wirehaired Pointers. Schwarzwald Kennels began with selected German Wirehair Pointers trained and tested to a standard in which only those that excelled in hunting, physical attributes, temperament and testing were reproduced. Through this breeding standard, we were able to develop German Wirehair Pointers that require less training to achieve the desired testing goals. Schwarzwald Kennels has gone as far as using frozen semen from afar to make sure we maintain the highest quality German Wirehaired Pointers we can find to continue our mission of building better dogs. The typical Schwarzwald puppy loves water at an early age, tracks game and has strong point instinct. This makes them a highly versatile gun dog for all upland and waterfowl hunting. In 2009, Schwarzwald Kennels moved to our farm in Andreas, PA. Andreas is approximately 1/2 hr. away from Allentown City, Pennsylvania and only minutes away from major routes such as the PA Turnpike, I-78, RT# 309 and I-80. With our move came growth of our kennel and our passion to train versatile hunting dogs. Since 2009, Schwarzwald Kennels offers Gun Dog Training to various versatile breeds. All client dogs are offered a climate controlled indoor/outdoor kennel. Training dogs have access to large recreational areas for supervised socialization. Versatile gun dogs in for training are very busy on our farm and go through a rigorous exercise program to make sure they are in peak condition for the day of their test; therefore, we take a limited amount of client dogs to assure you that your gun dog receives a great deal of training attention. You can expect, by having your versatile gun dog at Schwarzwald Kennels, a busy dog who will be trained daily whether in water, field or conditioning.
